The Accountability of the Government: Current Situation, Influential Factors and Analyses of the Method of Improvement—A Case Study of the Long Nan Event of Gansu Province

Facing the growing complexity of social problems, the traditional function of the government finds too much to deal with, together with the conservativeness, negtiveness, passiveness and inefficiency of the bureaucracy, which all account for the crises of the legitimacy of the existence of the government. As a healthy society need a reliable government as its basic guarantee, once the government isnt trusted by people, it means the society in which we live in is approaching a status of dangerous, This text takes the Long Nan Event in Gansu Province of China as an example, making an analysis of the current situation of the accountability of the government, trying to find the problems and influential factors existing there and aiming to find methods to improve the accountability of the Chinese government.
