Management Issues and Service Delivery Challenges in Lesotho and Possible Solutions

This paper aims to explore the management issues and service delivery challenges. As most of administrators have tried in all aspects to make service delivery and management effective and efficient, this has not been an easy task to carry out specifically because of the reigning situation of society that hesitates to adapt to new policies in developing countries. However, there are measures that can benefit the state in management issues and service delivery challenges. There are two sides to this as there are to a coin; hence the paper will discuss both the challenges and the opportunities. Without an aim there is no system, a governments aim should incorporate purpose and values and also provide direction without being directive to its citizens. A good government or organisation should also encourage creativity so that it becomes easy for the citizens to adapt easily. This essay views wide usage of technologies as a very good instrument to promote service delivery because findings show that, These technologies are meeting clients various and individual requirements and reflect the increasing demand for service in virtual environment. This may often work effectively in areas where majority of the population is computer literate and have access to such equipment. Improving the quality of service delivery can enable the Information Technology providers to create differentiation in order to gain profitability and competitive advantage which will in turn not only develop the human resource but also improve the quality of service and efficiency as well. According to Dabholkar (1994), Information Technology facilitated means of service delivery have the potential to benefit customers, employees and management. Customers can be offered additional or extended services, greater convenience and control. The full paper aims to define in detail the subsections about management issues and service delivery such as: ? Service level management ? Capacity management ? IT service continuity management ? Availability management ? Financial management Although it may seem these are the best approaches to an effective and efficient government or organisation, they are not complete if they are headed by people who do not fear or regard God. Hence the famous former South African president, Nelson Mandela, once said; Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate; our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness, that most frighten us. We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesnt serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people wont feel insecure around you. We are born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. Its not just in some of us, its in everyone. And as we let our light shine we consciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
