Genetic Analysis of Bitter Gourd Fruit Skin Color and Wart Shape
Two bitter gourd cultivars with different fruit skin color and wart shape were hybridized. By inbred and back-crossed, the genetics of fruit skin color and wart shape were studied. Results showed that fruit skin color and wart shape are controlled by quantitative traits, the inheritance of fruit skin color fit the additive -dominance-epitasis (model B1). Moreover, the inheritance of fruit wart shape fit the additive - dominance - epitasis major gene plus additive - dominance - poly gene (model E-1).
