Using Response Surface Methodology to Optimize Microencapsulation of Oil from Schisandra ChinensisfTurcz.) Baill
In order to avoid the oxidation of the oil from Schisandra chinensis (Turcz.) which has higher levels of unsaturated fatty acids, it was studied by spray drying method with β-cyclodextrin and glutin as wall materials and sucrose ester as emulsifier, and the optimal technological parameters were determined by response surface methodology (RSM). Results show that the optimal homogenizing pressure is 32.34MPa, the temperature of inlet and outlet air is 180.95 V and 81.66℃ respectively, and the embedding rate can reach 91.36%.The particle of microencapsulation produced characterizes in milky white and the special fragrance. The moisture content is 1.28%, the density is 0.82g/cm3 and the diameter is 8pm. Through microscopes the particle is well-distributed and quite complete. The surface has tiny concavity without apparent defect. Above all, these results are reasonable, enlarging the uses of Schisandra chinensis (Turcz.) Baill.
