Ultra High Pressure Extraction of Ursolic Acid from Prunella Vulgaris
Ursolic acid (UA) was a medicinal of high values and an important functional food material. In order to extrac ursolic acid from prunella vulgaris with ultra high pressure extraction (UHPE) method, the effect of ethanol concentration, extraction pressure, extraction time, and the ratio of solid to liquid on UA yields were studied. The results showed that the optimum UHPE conditions were as follows: 95% ethanol (w/w), extraction pressure 250MPa, extraction time 3 min, ratio of solid to liquid 1:10 (g:mL). The yields of extraction was 0.468%. UHPE could be used as a practical technique for extracting UA from prunella vulgaris for it was rapid, simple, sensitive and convenient.
