Effect of Recovery Culture on in vitro Plantlet Growth of Rhubarb
Continuous subculture resulted in growth deterioration in rhubarb(Rheum rhaponticum) micropropagation. By removing plant growth regulator in culture medium, strong rhubarb plantlets were regenerated from explants of adventurous buds. The recovery culture medium was MS medium supplemented with sucrose at 30g·l-1, ager at 5.2 g·l-1. In the further, part of the morphological and physiological traits, such as plantlet height, leaf number per plantlet, leaf size, leaf colour, plantlet biomass, chlorophyll content, photosynthesis rate, stomatal index had been compared between the recovery plantlets and subculture plantlets.
