Effect of Calcium on Photosynthesis Response to Sub-high Temperature of Tomato Seedlings
The effect of calcium on photosynthesis of tomato seedlings under 35 °C sub-high temperature was researched by treating with CaCl2, Ca2 chelator EGTA, and Ca2 channel inhibitor LaCl3 on tomato seedling. The results showed that: Except intercellular CO2 contain (Ci), net photosynthetic rate (Pn), transpiration rate (Tr), stomatal conductance (Cs) and stomatal limitation (Ls) were all increased in varying degrees in the early treatment, but significantly decreased after 9 days treatment. Compared with treatment CK, calcium increased Pn of seedlings leaves all the time, so did the Cs, Ci and Tr, but Ls decreased. So calcium maybe not just play an important role in regulating structural stabilization of stomata, it also effect the carbon assimilation in leaves under 35 °C sub-high temperature.
