Study on Traditional Dwellings and the Environmental Protection of Lijiang Old Town District
In this paper, several towns of Lijiang Old Town were taken into field survey in order to protect water plateau characteristics and minority buildings. For the purpose of protection, special villages and ancient buildings were analyzed of its residential location features, layout features, cultural traits, and so on. The research suggests that a good strategy to protect the residential buildings is to protect them in combination with its environmental characteristics. By harmonious development of residential buildings with its environment, the material and cultural content of traditional houses can be conserved and renovated by can. This research is a good work for practical protection of Lijiang Old Town traditional house in the future.
