Research on Teaching of Ecological Planning and Design Studio

The professional scope of Landscape architecture develops continuously, and landscape planning and design tends toward an internal specialization and scientification. Landscape planning as an independent and scientifical discipline is embodiment of the changes in Landscape architecture. Based on the theory research and teaching practice, several key issues of ecological planning and design in landscape architecture have been discussed. It points out that the key point of teaching is to research and to understand the laws that govern the environment as well as to create ways to enable conservation and development to be carried out in the most appropriate way. Open teaching has been suggested as a main method, and the practice has been introduced in four aspects: selection of projects, teaching procedure, teaching content and teaching techniques.
