These values can be briefly summarized as six harmonies involving the following relationships between man and nature, daily life and art, the four-elements of gardening, garden site and its surroundings, formulated techniques and non-formulated patterns, and last but not least visible features and invisible meanings. Thirdly, the paper attempts to explore the ways for achieving the goal of integration on general and micro specific aspects respectively. The general aspect has its main focus on the application of the traditional design philosophy and theories; and the specific aspect discusses about the concrete methods and forms used in modern time. Finally, the paper prospects how to develop Chinese landscape architecture in the future through three aspects, which are 1) forming a favorable social atmosphere for professionals to work in, 2) promoting the professionals awareness in protection and inheritance of tradition, 3) improving the professional education.
