Water Environment in Ancient Villages in South ANHUI Province—Taking Xidi and Hongcun as the examples
From just survival to living well, the inhabitant in south ANHUI province have the ecological idea for water from long ago. Through analyzing the relationship between water and village layout, as well as the gardenesque structure of water system in this paper, it is found that in ancient villages in south Anhui province, lots of ecological concepts were related to the water environment, which not only built multifunctional water conservancy projects and system of water maintenance, but also warned the environmental capacity. At last this paper concludes that those ecological concepts could be useful for today, leading to profound thoughts and instructive revelation.
