Ways of Constructing Shan-shui Cities in China from the Perspective of Landscape Urbanism

摘要：

Based on the case study, this paper explores ways of constructing Shan-shui city (City with landscape, just like those in Chinese traditional paintings). In the 1990s, Qian Xueshen, a well-known Chinese scientist proposed a conception of Shan-shui City, while landscape designers in the West invented the landscape urbanism. The conception of Shan-shui city needs being practiced. The landscape urbanism can provide for it practicable methods and technologies. Three successful cases of landscape urbanism, ecological rehabilitation according to natural process, renovating abandoned industrial lands and building landscape-dominated green infrastructure, are studied in this paper, and then specific ways of building Shan-shui city are proposed.
