Research and Design of Network Classroom of Landscape Dendrology

Landscape Dendrology is a key professional base course for majors in landscape, garden and horticulture. The rapid development of network classroom has enabled students to study repeatedly regardless of space and time and ask questions at any time. So its worthy to be developed for the curriculums reform. From the functional and technological perspective, Landscape Dendrologys network classroom has the following main points to be researched: 1) The system can be divided into teachers subsystems and students subsystems. Different users access to different functions and the system administrators perform the systems routine maintenance.2) In teachers subsystems, teachers can post teaching notices, add and manage information about students, the curriculum, and the selfexamination questions. Q and A sessions are also included. 3) In students subsystems, they can add or delete the course, view and download the curriculumrelated network resources, ask questions and take exams online. 4) The system is based on Linux platform, using Mysql as its database. Its web pages are produced by FrontPage and Dream weaver. PHP scripting language is used for web applications. After its completion, this system will fully meet the different needs of students with diverse background in studying Landscape Dendrology.
