The Construction of Sludge Landscape Park--Taking Meiliang Lake in Wuxi Taihu Area as an Example
Through researches on traditional mud dredging projects, the landscape measures were proposed to resolve problems as to stacking of dredged silt, transportation, high-cost of handling and secondary pollution. Taking Meiliang Lake in Wuxi area for example, this paper puts forward design strategies of sludge landscape-park which uses natural eco-measure, considers about time progress, and integrates the process of silt dredging with the ecological restoration in waterfront area, construction of habitats and waterfront open space. Through these it combined dredged project with restoring interlaced habitats of plants and animals, providing people with waterfront open space, establishing ecosystems where the city, lake and nature are integrated all together. This paper considered of three aspects about engineering, landscape and ecology, providing a useful attempt to establish the green infrastructure.
