Effect of Light Emitting diode(LED) Light Source on the Growth Status of Cymbidium Shoots in Vitro

The Cymbidium shoots in vitro were used as experimental material to study the effect of different light quality ratios of LED developed independently on its growth status under normal conditions. The results showed that the growth status of shoots in vitro cultured by 75%R+25%B treatment under normal condition, including plantlet height, leaf length, fresh/dry weight, length and number of root was better than the control among the five treatments but it had no obvious difference. Followed by 50%R + 50%B treatments, and the growth status of other treatments were worse than the control. In conclusion, the growth status and quality of shoots in vitro could be improved obviously under 75%R + 25% B treatment.
