Correlation between Light Quality and Photosynthetic Characteristics of Leaves in Canopy of Apple Tree
High-resolution miniature fiber optic spectrometer CI-700AB/HR2000 (Ocean optics, USA)which can measure wavelength from 290nm to HOOnm was used to study light components in canopy of golden delicious apple tree. The results showed that ultraviolet-B (UV-B, 290nm-320nm),uItraviolet-A(UV-A,320nm-400nm), purple light(PL, 400nm-420nm), blue light(BL, 420nm- 492nm), red light(RL, 622nm-750nm) and visible light(VL, 400nm-750nm) increased from inside to out and bottom to up in the canopy ,and the differences were significant. Contrarily, green light(GL, 492nm-577nm) decreased in that way. Infrared ray(IR, 750nm-ll60nm) first increased then decreased. Net photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate and stomatal conductance of leaves in canopy increased from inside to out and bottom to up. UV-B, UV-A, PL, BL, RL and VL took on significant positive correlations with these photosynthetic characteristics; GL presented significant negative correlation with the photosynthetic characteristics; correlation between IR and the three characteristics was also negative but unapparent. In summation, light quality influenced photosynthesis synthetically and remarkably.
