Catkin Length Measurement of Chinese Chestnut with AutoCAD
To accurately measure the length of crooked objects, a new simple, accurate and no-destructive method of measuring catkin length of chestnut was introduced in this paper. It could be used to measure length of catkin on living plants or detached in the field and laboratory. In this method, digital camera was used to capture the image of catkin with ruler. And AutoCAD software was used to get poly-line, the same length as the catkin. The t-test( t=0.0335 <t,o.oi,io) ) proves that the new method shows more accuracy than the traditional ruler method for measuring crooked objects.
