Novel Bionic Model for Pattern Recognition
In this paper, a novel bionic model and it performance to pattern recognition is researched. The model consists of a bulb model and a 3-layered cortical model; mimicking the main features of the olfactory system. The bulb and cortical models are connected by feed forward and feedback fibers with distributed delays. The Iris dataset from UCI repository contains 3 classes of 50 instances each, where each class refers to a type of iris plant was classified. The performance of the novel model was compared with previously published methods.
