FIRST-PRINCIPLE STUDY AND DESIGN OF HALF-METALLIC FERROMAGNETS COMPATIBLE WITH SEMICONDUCTORS
In this paper the experimental and theoretical research status of half-metallic fer-romagnet8 compatible with semiconductors is briefly reviewed. I show how to cal-culate structural parameters of these zincblende half-metallic phases and how to determine their stability by using accurate first-principle density-functional meth-ods, and clarify the implication of the theoretical results of both stability and half-metallic ferromagnetism to experiment. The theoretical stability results are proved to be consistent with the experimental fact.
