TWO-DIMENSIONAL NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF THE SHOCK-ACCELERATED MULTI-COMPONENTS FLOW
A shock-accelerated multi-components flow is considered. The evolution of interfaces is described with direct numerical simulation. Different ratio of specific heats can be used compared with other literatures which used only the same ratio of specific heats. This is emphasized for multicomponents instead of stratified density fluid. A mixed-type algorithm for volume-fraction model is added to the Eu-ler equations. High resolution Godunov scheme piecewise parabolic method with multicomponents is used, which describes the interface and vorticity evolution more sharper. Heavy-to-light and light-to-heavy gas interfaces with macli number 3 are examined and early-time impulsive vorticity deposition and the evolution of coherent vortex structures are checked and quantified.
