Photobiodegradation of quinoline and its removal kinetics

Quinoline is kind of important fine materials in chemical industry, and widely used for synthesis of Pharmaceuticals, dyes, pesticides and various chemical additives, therefore large wastewater containing quinoline was discharged into environment every year. Biodegradation of quinoline is common and well known. But it took usually longer time for quinoline to be degraded by biological method alone, in which microorganism was inhibited by quinoline. Fortunately, the inhibition to microorganism could be relieved by means of UV photolysis, in which photolysis products were easier to be bio-degraded, therefore to accelerate quinoline removal rate.
