Key Indicator of the Imbalance Process of Fruit Waste Anaerobic Digestion
1. Introduction Fruit wastes are produced large amounts from urban markets. Anaerobic digestion process is a possible way to dispose of these wastes. Anaerobic digestion involves a series of metabolic reactions such as hydrolysis, acidogensis and methanogensis (Khalid, 2011). Given the very large biodegradable organic content of fruit waste, a major limitation of anaerobic digestion of these is a rapidly acidification decreasing the pH in the reactor, and a larger volatile fatty acids production, which stressed and inhibited the activity of methanogenic bacteria.
