Magnetic Nanocomposition CoFe/MCM-48 for Adsorptive Removal of Sulfamethazine from Water
In recent years, the widespread occurrence of antibiotics in various environmental matrices has gained great public concern due to their risk of promoting microbial resistance. As the earliest synthesized and administrated antimicrobial agents, sulfonamides (SAs), for their broad antimicrobial spectrum, strong antibacterial activity and stable chemical property, have been extensively used today to treat various bacterial, protozoal, and fungal infections ENREF 2. However, SAs are released to the environment in either parent or metabolized forms through various ways, for example, the discharge of untreated or treated municipal and livestock wastewaters and the qpplication of composted manure and sludge on farmlands.
