Preparation of dithiocarbamate modified mesoporous starch and study on its adsorption properties
1. Introduction Modified starch as heavy metal chelating agent with the advantages of renewability, non-toxicity and biodegradability has been a hot research topic these years. Previously, our team synthesized dithiocarbamate modified starch (DTCS), and experiments proved that this adsorbent had excellent chelating capability for heavy metal ions, which provided a practical basis for the effective application of starchy adsorbent in wastewater treatment. On this basis, we further synthesized dithiocarbamate modified enzymatic porous starch (DTCES), and the adsorption capability was improved because of increased surface area. However, due to the high crystallinity of starch granule, the efficiency in chemical modification is low, meanwhile, the increasing range of surface area is not high. In view of this, we prepared the mesoporous modified starch with large surface area and low crystallinity, and investigated its adsorption properties for heavy metal ions.
