A surface sites-species model study of selenium adsorption on natural goethite
1. Introduction Elevated toxic inorganic selenium (Se) has been identified as a threat to human in Hubei and Shanxi province. Some studies can be found in the literature concerning the sorption of selenium on synthetic and commercial goethite. Constant capacitance model, the diffuse layer model, the triple layer model, and CD-MUSIC model are very complex with surface electrostatic analysis and several sets of adsorption constants to limit their application.
