Comparison of the bactericidal activity between silver supported catalvst and silver ions

摘要：

Introduction Silver ions have long been known for their strong inhibitory and antibacterial activity, as well as wide antibacterial spectrum. On the other hand, silver nanoparticles and compounds containing silver are attractive recently for disinfection in water, because of their high stability and resistance to mechanical stress as inorganic compounds with strong antibacterial activity. However, so far the mechanism underlying the bactericidal activity of silver supported compounds remain generally unclear.
