Single and competitive adsorption of strontium and nickel ions in soil
Xinjiang, situated in the inland area of northwest China, is an arid area. In order to take the full advantage of water resource, industrial wastewater which has been treated is usually used to irrigate greenery of roadside fields or plants along the expressways. However, there is environmental pollutation in sewage irrigation soils, such as the higher heavy metal ions concentration. Results indicated that the strontium and nickel ions concentration in soils, collected from wastewater reservoir of a petrochemical factory, were higher than uncontaminated soil. In this paper, the sorption of strontium and nickel ions in single or binary system on soils were studied to reveal the translocation and accumulation regulation of strontium and nickel ions in soil.
