Performance of genotoxicity biosensor ADP1_recA_lux is influenced by different culture media and possible explanations
Introduction Whole-cell-biosensors are cells which use a fusion of promoter: :reporter to sense the presence of a substrate or a stress and produce signals that can be quantified. Owing to its advantages such as high selectivity, high sensitivity, low cost, easy to operate, quick response, and application in evaluating bioavalibility, whole-cell biosensors are receiving more and more attention, which have been used to detect various compounds, i.e., mitomycin (MMC), pesticide, heavy metal, salicylate, naphthalenes, alkanes, and colloidal fullerene C60. Besides, cell arrays and dual-report-gene systems are able to distinguish different kinds of damage to cells.
