Spatial Distribution and Environmental Risk Assessment of PFCs in Surface Water from Hanjiang River in Wuhan
Perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) has been extensively used for decades in a wide range of industrial products such as emulsifying agents in polymer synthesis, and commercial products such as wetting agents, lubricants, and so an. From the production and use of these products, PFCs can be released into the environment. In recent years, PFCs have been found widespread as a class of emerging persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in human blood, in wildlife samples, and in environmental samples. Some reports have demonstrated the toxicity of certain PFCs in rat, fish, and monkey. Their environmental persistence and bioaccumulative potential would probably threaten to human health and ecosystem.
