Roles of Li+ and Zr4+ Cations in the Catalytic Performances of Co1. xMxCr204 (M = Li, Zr; x = 0-0.2) for Methane Combustion
Introduction Great efforts have been made to develop metal oxide catalysts to reduce the dosage of noble metals used in the abatement of methane emission from natural gas vehicles (NGVs). Among transition metal oxides, spinel-type CoCr2O4 catalyst was found to be very active for the oxidation of hydrocarbons and diesel soot.12 To better understand the nature of the CoCr2O4 catalyst, the influence on the catalytic activity for spinels of the substitution of monovalent or tetravalent cations was investigated.
