A new concept of deployable space capsule for aerodynamic de-orbit and re-entry
In recent years there has been a wide diffusion of small space platforms (micro-satellites and nanosatellites) used in traditional space fields, such as remote sensing for Earths environmental protection, prevention of natural disasters and homeland security. Other applications include scientific experiments or technology, space exploration, observation of the universe, astrophysics, biology or physical sciences in microgravity. Reducing more and more size, mass and power allows to significantly reduce the cost of the mission, even using commercial components; on the other hand, as a consequence of the limited size and power, these systems require sophisticated solutions to achieve ambitious scientific and technological goals.
