Numerical Simulation of Hypersonic Viscous Flow around an Aerospace Plane

This paper deals with an aerospace plane with notail-fuselages and leaping triangle wing tip similar to HERMES of France and HOPE of Japan. Numerical simulations were performed for Mach numbers of 4.96 (Re=3.1×107/m) at angles of attack from-5 deg to 20 deg using the Multi-block Structure NS solver. Comparisons between the predicted aerodynamic characteristics and wind tunnel data verify the reliability of the numerical method used for simulating viscous flow around the aerospace plane.
