Dynamic Multi-level Regression Analysis of Construction Industry Gross Output in China

In recent years, construction industry is developing very fast in China. As a mainstay industry in China, construction industry is very important to people’s everyday life and economy development of the whole country. Fast development of construction industry is benefiting lots of other industries and promoting employment, from which people benefit a lot. Gross output is the key index to evaluate development level of construction industry, and there are a lot of factors having an influence on it. This paper establishes a multi-level econometrics model, which aims to find out the relationship between gross output of construction industry and number of construction companies, construction employer amount, labor productivity, rate of technique equipment and rate of power equipment. The final satisfied regression function is worked out after parameter estimation, significance test and stepwise regression. Then, multi-level regression functions are conducted with data from 5 to 9 years, the parameter, which stands for contribution of each factor, can show dynamic changes of some aspects in construction industry. The conclusions can lay a foundation for decision making about strategies management of construction industry in China.
