A Research Framework for Examining Collaborative Contracting and Project Performance in Mainland China
This paper aims to present an overall research framework for examining collaborative contracting (CC) and its impact to project performance in the construction industry of Mainland China. The perceived benefits, critical success factors and potential difficulties in implementing collaborative contracting are intended to be investigated through this study. A suitable research framework for measuring the project performance via CC is to be developed to verify the feasibility of applying CC in construction projects. Core research methods employed in this study involve desktop literature review, online and Delphi questionnaire surveys and case study investigations. The ultimate purpose of this study is to provide proper implications to industrial practitioners on the selection and adoption of different forms of CC in construction projects to achieve better value for money and more favorable project outcomes.
