THE FORMATION OF REACTIVE OXYGEN SPECIES DURING POLYCHLORINATED BIPHENYL METABOLISM IN HEPG2 CELLS
The cellular toxicity of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) quinones was investigated. It is proved that the exposure of PCB quinones cause oxidative damages in HepG2 cells, by loss of cell viability, free radicals and lipid peroxidation product generation, and the damage of antioxidant defense system. However, antioxidant DH-LA provides significant protection by against PCB quinones induced oxidative damages.
