SEQUENCING OUR ENZYMES, SEQUENCING OURSELVES
Human evolution is a never-ending battle between our parasites including viruses and bacteria, and our immune system including major histocompatibility complex (MHO and lymphocytes. The technique limitation and economic constraints prevented us from conducting systematic study on either side in the past. The latest sequencing technologies advancement and other innovations enable us to investigate both sides of the conflict in a systematic approach. We have applied viral metagenomic study to profile viral sequence composition of interesting samples. We have developed a novel approach to sequence the entire immune repertoire from blood and solid tissue samples. In addition, we have developed a unique high-throughput method to genotype all major MHC-I and MHC-1I genes with superior accuracy and the cost hundred times lower than the current market prices. In this conference, I will present our latest progress in all three areas.
