PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF MAGNETIC MICROSPHERIC POLYSTYREN
This paper described that PS/Fe3 O4 composite nanoparticles were prepared from Fe3 O4 nanoparticles modified by oleic acid (OA) via mini-emulsion polymerization. And coating Fe3O4 with polystyrene (PS) polymer can prevent magnetic nanoparticles from the aggregation that usually comes from the increasing of ionic strength. Then the SiO2@ (PS/Fe3O4) composite nanoparticles were obtained via modified Stober process. The results showed that the particle diameter of the magnetic microspheric polystyrene was about 200—300 nm, styrene and Fe3O4 nanoparticles were also enwrapped with micro-spheric polystyrene.
