SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF GOLD-COATED IRON OXIDE NANOPARTICLES
In this study, we report the chemical synthesis and functionalization of gold-coated iron oxide nanoparticles. Chemical co-precipitation method was used to prepare Fe3O4 firstly, and following by a heating procedure at 380℃ for 2 hours to form γFe2O3, γ-Fe2O3 @ Au composite with size of 35. 9 ran was synthetized by means of 3-mercaptopropyltriethoxysilane (MPTES) as a medium. TEM, FT-IR, UV and VSM characterization analysis all showed that Au was coated on the surface of γ-Fe2O3 successfully, the obtained γ-Fe2O3@Au composite nanoparticles are superparamagnetic. As an ideal carrier material, γ-Fe2O3@Au composite nanoparticles have very low background, can be magnetic separation and have great potential application prospects.
