ROLE OF NOTCH SIGNAL IN NEURAL DIFFERENTIATION OF HMSCS INDUCED BY SODIUM FERULATE
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from bone marrow are undifferentiated cells that have the ability to self-renew with a high proliferative capacity and possess pluripotency potential to differentiate into cells of diverse lineages within the body. In this paper, we revealed that Sodium Ferulate (3-methoxy-4-hydroxy-cinnamate sodium, SF) could induce hMSC to differentiate into neuroal-like cells effevtively. Furthermore, we analyzed the expression levels of Notchl in induced cells to investigated the possible mechanism involved in the neural differentiation induced by SF. The results showed significantly down-regulation of Notchl expression in cells treated by SF. It indicated that Notch signaling pathway may contribute to the neural differentiation of hMSCs induced by SF.
