GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMS ANALYSIS BY PYROSEQUENCING ON A PORTABLE PHOTODIODE-BASED BIOLUMINESCENCE ANALYZER

In this paper, we developed an inexpensive bioluminescence analyzer by using a photodiode (PD) array; pyrosequencing with this instrument was successfully performed. The DNA sequence of genetically modified organisms (GMO): Bt-11, Bt-176 Maize and Roundup ready soya were successfully detected The corresponding limit of detection (LOD) was 0. 01 % with 35 PCR cycles. The GMO test result and the small volume of the detector have immense potential for use as a farm/field test
