THE EFFECTS OF LANTHANUM CHLORIDE ON TUMOR-ASSOCIATED MICRORNAS EXPRESSION
Lanthanide ions have been proved to have various biologic effects. Lanthanum with extremely active physical and chemical property was evidenced to possess anti-tumor effects and regulation of cellular immunity and other multiple effects. In recent years, it has been found that lanthanide elements have potential value in cancer treatment Our aim in the present study was to investigate the effects of lanthanum chloride on the proliferation of HT-29 and HeLa cells and on the expression of tumor-associated microRNAs, let-7a and miR-34a, in vitro. HT29 and HeLa cells were cultured routinely in vitro. Then the cells were treated with lanthanum chloride (LaCU ) at different concentrations and control groups were set MTT assay, real-time quantitative PCR and western blot were adopted to suggest that appropriate dosage of lanthanum chloride can inhibit tumor cell growth in vitro, and can up-regulate the expression of tumor-suppressive microRNAs, thereby may reducing the expression of CyclinDl.
