A ZINC COMPLEX OF IMIDAZOLIUM DERIVATIVE FOR THE FLUOROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF AMOXICILLIN
Amoxicillin, a β-lactamase inhibitor, is a widely used aminopenicillin with a broad spectrum, and its determination is very significant In this work, one simple and rapid method has been established for the determination of amoxicillin based on the metal complex of Zn(bix). Upon the addition of amoxicillin, the emission band of Zn(bix) complex at 290. 0 nm could be gradually shifted to 306. 0 nm with an obvious enhancement in pH 8. 5 tris-HCl buffer solution. The extent of the enhanced fluorescence at 306. 0 nm was proportional to the concentrations of amoxicillin in the range of 2. 0~40. 0 mg/L with the detection limit of 0. 44 mg/L.
