Influence of Flux on morphology and luminescence properties of phosphors: A Case study on Y2Ti2O7:Eu3+

Driven by todays ongoing display device improvement (e.g., a high-resolution display device, field emission display and high-power light-emitting diodes), synthesis of high-quality phosphors is necessary1. High-quality phosphors, in addition to having high luminous intensity, excellent chemical stability and thermal stability, have sphere-like morphology and uniform particles size as well. However, to date, the morphology and size of phosphor particle prepared by high-temperature solid state reaction (SSR) is difficult to control because phosphor materials have an intrinsic crystal structure and will grow according to their own natural characteristics in synthesis process2.
