Improvement in indoor air quality utilizing the photocatalytic sheets and the natural light from the window
Introduction: We have designed and prepared TiO2 photocatalytic sheets to remove odor in closed spaces such as refrigerator, shoe locker, and so on. The photocatalytic sheet contains TiO2 powder as a photocatalyst and activated carbon, silica gel and zinc oxide as adsorbents between corrugated nonwoven and transparent film1). The odor compounds such as ammonia, iso-valeric acid are adsorbed to the photocatalytic sheets in the dark (described as removal below), and the compounds are decomposed by photocatalytic reaction under the sun light or UV light irradiation (described as renewal below).
