Water-soluble CdSexTe1-x alloys Sensitized TiO2 electrodes for solar cell

We sensitize TiO2 electrodes with water-soluble CdSexTe1-x alloys for solar cell. It can be seen that the photovoltaic performances are affected by the degree of alloying. Maximal power conversion efficiency (n) of 0.584 % and short circuit photocurrent density (1.448 mA/cm2), open circuit voltage (0.46 V) are obtained when Se/Te molar ratio is 0.4/0.6. This is ascribed to better photoabsorbance efficiency and photoinduced charges separation which could be supported by the UV-vis absorption and fluorescence lifetime data.
