Wind Tunnel Test Results and Performance Prediction for a Novel Ducted Fan with Collective and Cyclic Pitch Actuation
Force and moment measurements are presented for a novel ducted fan in hover. Figure of merit and other hover performance data are presented for the no-headwind case. The duct’s internal diameter is 600 mm. The duct has circumferentially varying airfoil sections, and is designed for high lift in axial flow. The duct’s fan blades have variable cyclic and collective pitch. Hover collective settings range from 0 to 25, and cyclic pitch ranges from 0 to 7.5 . Three different duct lips are tested.
