Control of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment for Korean Launch Complex

Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) is assigned the important task to control the mechanical operations on Integrated Launch Vehicle (ILV) and five mechanical systems of MGSE are the most critical systems in Launch Complex (LC). The control system enables operators to carry out highly difficult operations in MGSE automatically as well as provides crews safety and reliable operation. In this paper, we briefly describe the roles and operational procedures and give explanations of the hardware configuration and characteristics of our control system. We also delineate the structure and function of software algorithm loaded in the controller and HMI software in the console both were developed for MGSE.
