Modelling of Aircraft Ground Taxiing at Congested Airport
Efficient airport surface operations are considered a key to the successful implementation of 4D trajectories. Here, an airport surface aircraft model is developed to improve the simulation accuracy. The conventional model does not take into account detailed aircraft dynamics and provides only for rough estimations. The new simulation method is based on the Nagel-Schreckenberg model which is a car congestion model, so it considered crowded environment. To validate the effectiveness of the model, multilateration data at Tokyo International airport is used, and it is proved that less than 30 seconds average of the simulation accuracy is achieved.
