Numerical Prediction of Massive separation Unsteady Flows around Bluff-bodies

The massive separated flows around bluff-bodies, such as Rudimentary landing gear (RLG), NACA-0021 at 60 degrees incidence and tandem cylinders (TC), are predicted using unsteady Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) and delayed-detached-eddy simulation (DDES) based on k--SST model. Firstly, decay of isotropic turbulence (DIT) is used to validate our codes and redefine constant CDES in DDES method. Different schemes and dissipation are also investigated through DIT case. Effects of different spatial schemes on the averaged and instantaneous flow-fields are shown by comparing with the available measurements. From the comparisons on scheme, high-order and low-dissipation scheme is necessary to predict the small scale of structures. Furthermore, DDES is more reasonable turbulence modeling methods than URANS.
