A Video Quality Evaluation Method Based on Temporal and Spatial Complexity
To make video quality evaluation method to be more consistent with human perception, a new non-reference video quality assessment algorithm based on temporal and spatial complexity will be proposed in this paper, in which video dynamics is used as temporal complexity, and image edge features and block are used as spatial complexity. This algorithm calculates 20 different sequences using three methods: subjective evaluation method, full-reference video evaluation method PEVQ and the method proposed by this paper. Experimental results show that this algorithm can calculate video evaluation results compatible more precisely with human perception, more consistent with subjective evaluation method, and have greater advantage compared to full-reference video quality assessment.
